Grind Your Flour to Your Desired Fineness Hawos Novum has 9 settings. You can adjust the fineness of the ground flour between 1 and 9 using the control lever. At setting 1, you can grind 125 grams per minute, while at settings 4 and 5, you can grind approximately 250 grams. As you increase the setting, the grinding speed will also increase accordingly. To ensure the long life of your mill, we recommend not setting it below 1, as friction between the stones at a lower setting is not healthy for your machine. Once you've decided on your setting, you can add your grains to the hopper and start your grinder with the on/off button. When there are no grains left in the mill, you will hear the sound of the stones rubbing against each other. Once all the grain is ground, turn off your mill.
