One of the main advantages of cork as a material is its sustainability. Cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree without cutting the tree down, allowing it to continue absorbing CO2 and producing oxygen. Additionally, cork is biodegradable and reusable, minimizing its impact on the environment.
Cushioning properties
Another advantage of cork is its natural cushioning ability. It reduces noise and vibration that may occur while grinding flour, making cork an excellent material for use in stone mills. The cushioning property of cork also extends the lifespan of the mill.
Hygiene
Cork is naturally antibacterial and resistant to mold, making it an ideal choice for processing foods. Komo stone mills made from cork are easy to clean and maintain, remain hygienic, and provide you with loyal service for years.
Aesthetics
Komo cork stone mills are not only eco-friendly, hygienic, and durable, but they are also aesthetically pleasing. Cork has a natural, warm appeal that enhances the appearance of the mill and looks great in any kitchen.
Why Fresh Grinding?
Buying flour from the store may be cheaper, but the flavor and health benefits of freshly ground flour are incomparable to other flours on the market. It offers an aromatic and nutrient-rich taste experience, whereas store-bought flours are often more sterile and lack nutritional value.
Whole grains ground as a whole retain all their nutrients. It is quite difficult to find these nutrients in industrial flours. The essential oils and nutrients released during the grinding process enhance the aroma and flavor of the flour. You can compare this situation to the difference between freshly ground coffee and ready-made granulated coffee.
The quality of freshly ground flour can be explained by the difference between a sliced and left-out apple and a freshly sliced apple. As food products are broken down, they come into contact with oxygen and spoil quickly. Therefore, unground whole seeds can be stored much longer without spoiling. With KoMo stone mills, you can finely grind all grains, legumes, spices, small non-oily seeds, and even coffee beans.
Thanks to the grinding process, essential nutrients such as magnesium, iron, B vitamins, and valuable plant proteins remain in the flour. Why not use the natural and nutritious foods your body needs fresh? Once you experience the difference of freshly ground flour, it will be difficult to go back.
KoMo's superiority in stone mill work:
Known for its quality craftsmanship in Austria, KoMo has been exporting to 65 countries since 1985. By adding love and care to each product during the production process, it combines quality with social responsibility. KoMo offers superior performance and reliability in every product from stone mills to kitchen appliances.
Quiet and Powerful!
At the heart of Komo mills lies patented grinding technology. All components, made of wear-resistant materials and placed with millimetric precision, provide a quiet, powerful, and continuous stone grinding operation.
Wear-Resistant Grinding Stones
The grinding stones of Komo stone mills are made of Corundum Ceramic material. These special stones are maintenance-free and highly durable. Discovered in 1985, this material is now standard in all Komo mills. The mill stones, made from Ceramic and Aluminum Oxide, require no maintenance, have a self-sharpening feature, and machines with stones unchanged for 30 years are still in use today. If an incorrect product (e.g., oily seeds) enters the hopper, there's no need to worry; you can restore the stones to their original state by grinding rice on a coarse setting.
Long-Lasting Design
All Komo products are designed and manufactured to work flawlessly for years. All raw materials used are sourced from the most durable and sustainable materials available. To ensure the continuity of quality assurance, 100% of the production is done in Austria.
Easy and Practical Use
Using Komo machines is extremely simple. You can start your machine with just one button and adjust the grinding thickness by turning the hopper left or right. For cleaning, without using any tools, turn the funnel hopper 2 turns towards the coarse setting to open the mill and easily access the grinding stones for cleaning. For the finest setting, turn the hopper towards the fine (fein) direction until you hear the stones rubbing against each other. Then, turn it towards the coarse (grob) direction until the grinding noise stops. Yes! You've found the finest setting!
Elegant and Durable Design
In addition to the internal mechanism of Komos, we also pay attention to the external appearance. Durability applies not only to the internal mechanism but also to the materials we use on the outside. Solid woods used in local furniture making can be sanded and oiled for a brand-new appearance if worn over time.
