The Eko 0-32 Brix refractometer is a binocular type measuring device capable of measuring the Brix of samples between 0% and 32%.
It should be noted that economic refractometers may have cosmetic defects (such as slight hairline scratches) in some cases. These defects do not affect the measurement accuracy of the device and remain only as visual differences.
This refractometer operates without the need for a power source, offering extremely simple and practical use.
With this refractometer model, you can measure samples up to 32 Brix; juice, milk, mayonnaise, etc.
To see the measurement results more clearly, make sure that the prism receives sufficient light.
The device can be calibrated with pure water obtained externally, and the focus is adjusted through the binocular part.
This refractometer device features ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation) with a compensation range between 10°C and 20°C.
The prism of the refractometer should be carefully protected from impacts and scratches. A scratch-free prism always ensures accurate and clear measurement results.
To obtain higher quality and clearer results, the measuring prism should be gently cleaned with a soft cloth after each use.
Accessories included with the refractometer are; hard carrying case, small screwdriver for calibration adjustment, plastic dropper, cleaning cloth, and user manual.
Common Sugar (°Bx) Values in the Measured Solution:
- In a solution weighing 100 grams with a value of 25°Bx, it means there are 25 grams of sugar. In other words, in a 25°Bx solution weighing 100 grams, 25 grams are sugar and 75 grams are water.
How to Measure?
- Hold the refractometer by the body so that the side with the inclined prism where the sample is dripped faces the light. With the cover closed, position the binocular section of the device to your eye and read the value on the measurement chart you see. If the values are not clear, rotate the adjustment ring just above the binoculars to adjust the focus by turning the measurement chart to the right or left.
Zero Adjustment:
- First, open the prism cover and drip 1-2 drops of pure water onto the inclined prism surface and gently close the cover. This will leave a thin layer of water between the prism surface and the cover. If you do not see the dark-light color separation image near the 0 (zero) line of the measurement chart clearly; adjust the calibration screw using a screwdriver so that the dark-light separation aligns exactly with the zero line of the measurement chart.
