Kumtel HCK-02 Gooseneck Dripper Kettle, Digital Temperature Control, 0.8 L, Matte Black, 1350 W
Kumtel HCK-02 is an electric dripper kettle with a gooseneck spout, designed for coffee brewing and precise water pouring. Its thin, curved spout allows water to be poured in a fine and controlled stream. Its 0.8-liter capacity offers a suitable volume for preparing coffee with manual brewing methods and for single-batch servings.
The temperature is set between 40 and 100 °C from the digital touch control panel, and a single button on the panel switches directly to 93 °C, a setting frequently preferred for filter coffee brewing. The memory function retains the last temperature setting used, and the appliance switches off automatically when the water boils. Offering hygienic use with its SUS 304 stainless steel body and BPA-free inner chamber, the HCK-02 takes up little space in cafe brew bars, offices and hotel rooms thanks to its compact design.
Get to Know the Kumtel HCK-02
In Mutbex's detailed review video, the HCK-02's box contents, digital display, temperature precision, gooseneck design and stainless steel inner chamber are shown step by step. The video also explains why using a gooseneck kettle is important in pour-over methods such as V60 and Chemex.
A temperature-controlled kettle makes it possible to prepare brewing water at the same temperature every time without guesswork. This makes it easier to achieve a similar flavor with every brew using the same coffee beans. The product can also be examined in person at the Beyoğlu Store before purchase.
What Is a Gooseneck Dripper Kettle?
A gooseneck dripper kettle is a water heater with a thin, long and curved spout resembling a swan's neck. This spout design makes it easier to control the speed and direction of the pour. In V60, Chemex and similar pour-over methods, even distribution of water over the coffee bed is decisive for a balanced brew.
The HCK-02 combines a gooseneck spout with digital temperature control in a single appliance. This way, brewing water is prepared at the desired temperature and poured directly onto the coffee without the need to transfer it to a separate pouring kettle. In addition to coffee, it can also be used for beverages brewed at lower temperatures, such as green tea, white tea and herbal teas.

Water Temperature by Beverage
Each beverage needs a different water temperature to bring out its aroma in the best way. Water that is too hot can cause bitterness in coffee and an astringent taste in green and white tea. The HCK-02's digital adjustment between 40 and 100 °C makes it easy to apply the generally recommended temperatures below.
| Beverage or Brewing Method | Recommended Water Temperature |
|---|---|
| V60 and other pour-over methods | 90-96 °C |
| Chemex | 92-96 °C |
| French press | 92-96 °C |
| Aeropress | 80-90 °C |
| Green tea | 70-80 °C |
| White tea | 75-85 °C |
| Oolong tea | 85-95 °C |
| Black tea and herbal teas | 95-100 °C |
How to Brew Filter Coffee with a V60?
The V60 is a pour-over brewing method in which water passes through the coffee bed in a controlled way thanks to its conical shape and spiral ribs. A gooseneck kettle makes it easier to pour water in thin, circular motions with this method. You can watch how the V60 method differs from other brewing methods in the Mutbex video.
- Set the HCK-02 to 93 °C and heat the water.
- Place the filter paper in the dripper, rinse it with hot water and then discard this water.
- For example, put 15 grams of medium-fine ground coffee into the filter.
- Pour about twice as much water as coffee and let it bloom for 30-45 seconds.
- Pour the remaining water in circular motions from the center outward, to a total of about 250 ml.
The total brewing time is generally between 2.5 and 3.5 minutes. If it takes longer, the grind is made coarser, and if shorter, it is made finer. For different brewing techniques, you can read our article Coffee Brewing Methods.
Brewing with a Chemex
The Chemex is a glass-bodied pour-over brewing device that delivers a clear and clean-tasting coffee thanks to its thick filter paper. Its larger volume compared with the V60 allows brewing for more than one cup. A gooseneck kettle is also used with the Chemex to distribute water evenly over the coffee bed.
For those who want to start brewing with a Chemex, the Chemex Filter Coffee Equipment Starter Set is available. In addition to the Kumtel HCK-02 kettle, the set includes a glass coffee brewer, coffee grinder, precision coffee scale and Chemex filter paper. You can watch the features of the Chemex in the Mutbex video.

Kumtel V60 Dripper and Brewing Stand
A dripper is needed to start pour-over brewing with the HCK-02. The Kumtel V60 Dripper is a light and easily portable brewing device that allows water to flow evenly onto the coffee through the filter paper. The Kumtel V60 Coffee Brewing Stand in the same series keeps the dripper stable over a cup or carafe.
The Epinox DBF-02 size 2 dripper filter paper can be used with the V60 dripper. Glass, ceramic and stainless steel dripper options are listed in the dripper category.
Precision Coffee Scale
In pour-over brewing, measuring the coffee and water accurately directly affects the result. With its 0.1-gram precision and timer function, the Kumtel HV60-02 Digital Precision Coffee Scale with Timer makes it possible to track the coffee dose and brewing time at the same time.
Thanks to the tare function, only the weight of the coffee and water can be measured while the dripper and cup are on the scale. Different scale options are listed in the precision coffee scales category.
Manual Coffee Grinder
Grinding coffee just before brewing helps preserve its aroma. For example, the Timemore Chestnut G1 Plus, with its stepped grind adjustment and titanium burrs, makes it possible to grind to the fineness required for pour-over brewing.
For detailed information on grind settings, you can read our article How to Adjust a Coffee Grinder. Other models are listed in the manual coffee grinders category.
Coffee Beans for Filter Coffee
In pour-over methods, the aroma of the coffee is reflected directly in the cup, so freshly roasted beans are recommended. For example, Addis Ababa Coffee Awasa Blend is a dark roasted, strong-bodied filter coffee blend made from Ethiopian beans.
According to the product page, the coffee has caramel, chocolate and hazelnut tasting notes. Different bean options are listed in the coffees category.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Depending on the hardness of the water used, limescale may form in the kettle's inner chamber over time. Limescale can extend heating time and affect the taste of the brewing water. It is recommended to clean the inner chamber at regular intervals in accordance with the instructions in the user manual.
The body of the appliance should be wiped with a damp cloth, and the cordless base and electrical connections should not come into contact with water. To find out the water hardness in your region, you can read our article Türkiye Water Hardness Guide 2026.

What temperature should water be for filter coffee?
A water temperature between 90 and 96 °C is generally recommended for filter coffee. On the HCK-02, the frequently preferred 93 °C setting within this range can be selected with a single touch. Depending on the beans used, the temperature can be raised or lowered by a few degrees.
