Measurement considerations:
The effect of distance from the measurement surface and size is often unclear.
If the size of the measurement surface becomes too large from a certain distance, not only the target surface but also other background surfaces are measured.
This affects measurement results; for example, temperatures in a switch cabinet may be assessed as lower than they actually are.
The IFOV Warn function prevents such errors, correctly indicating the area to be measured.
How does the IFOV Warn function work?
On the thermal camera screen, a cursor appearing as a square corresponding to 3x3 pixel dimensions is displayed.
This cursor represents the size of the smallest measurable object and is the IFOV measurement area.
Users can easily determine whether the object they wish to measure is within this cursor area.
This ensures accurate and reliable temperature measurements.
With the Live FOV Calculator in the Testo Thermography mobile app, when the measurement distance is entered; FOV (Field of View), IFOVgeo (Geometric IFOV), and IFOVmeasurement (Measurement IFOV) values are automatically calculated.
