TFA 47.1008 Analog Rain Gauge

The TFA 47.1008 analog rain gauge is a practical meteorological tool designed to accurately measure rainfall amounts. It is an ideal choice for gardeners, farmers, or anyone monitoring general weather conditions.

  • It is a reliable device for monitoring daily or weekly rainfall amounts in gardens or agricultural fields where regular rain measurement is necessary. Its portable design allows for rainfall tracking in different locations.

  • Its usage is not limited to agricultural activities; it is also suitable for meteorology enthusiasts and nature observers.

  • Suitable for manual use, the TFA 47.1008 features a large reservoir that makes collecting and measuring rainwater easy.

  • The scale on the device allows reading rainfall amounts in millimeters and offers the ability to measure based on rain intensity.

  • Made of durable plastic, the device is resistant to harsh weather conditions and can be used outdoors for extended periods.

  • Thanks to its wide diameter, it provides accurate readings; the scale is easily readable even with small amounts of rain. The funnel-shaped lid prevents evaporation and increases measurement reliability.

  • With the practical holder, you can place the device directly on the ground or attach it to a pole.

  • For stability and accurate measurement on the ground, it is recommended to secure the holder to a pole using two screws or nails. The device should be positioned approximately 1 meter above the ground for correct measurements.

  • Installation is easy; it can be quickly placed on a pole or a vertical surface.

  • Its simple and straightforward design allows quick and direct measurement without the need for digital devices.

  • For accurate readings, the measurement lid should be kept clear of leaves, branches, or other debris. In the case of solid precipitation (snow, hail), the lid should be removed, and accumulated content melted to determine the correct amount.

  • After each measurement, the water in the reservoir must be emptied.

Calculation of Rainfall Amount

  • Rainfall in mm (Millimeters):
Rainfall measured in millimeters indicates the height of rainwater accumulated over a specific area. 1 mm of rain means a layer of water 1 mm high has accumulated over 1 square meter.

  • Rainfall in l/m² (Liters per Square Meter):
Liters per square meter indicate the volume of rainwater that has fallen on a given area. 1 l/m² means 1 liter of water has fallen on 1 square meter.

  • Relationship Between Them:
1 mm of rainfall equals 1 l/m² of rainfall. For example:
    10 mm rainfall = 10 l/m²
    5 mm rainfall = 5 l/m²

The TFA 47.1008 device provides users with information on both the height (mm) and volume (l/m²) of rainfall, giving insight into rainfall intensity and water amount.
