Atago 2363 Master-500 Handheld Refractometer | 0-90 Brix

  • The Master-500 model has a wide measurement range between 0% and 90% brix.

  • The device requires no power source and is very easy to use.

  • The sample liquid is dropped directly onto the prism; measurement results are obtained in a few seconds.

  • Thanks to the IP65 protection class, it is resistant to water and dust splashes.

  • It is suitable for measuring the brix value of products such as machine oils, vegetable oils, jams, and fruit concentrates.

  • It is durable and long-lasting with its metallic outer structure.

  • It does not have an automatic temperature compensation (ATC) feature; temperature correction must be done manually.

  • Calibration and clarity adjustments ensure high precision and clear results.

  • The aerodynamic body design offers ergonomic grip and comfortable use.

  • Ensure that the prism receives sufficient light during measurement.

  • After use, the prism should be cleaned with a soft cloth to protect against impacts and scratches.

  • The prism is protected with a special plastic cap; this cap is openable and closable, preventing damage to the prism.

  • Made in Japan and meets high-quality standards.

Steps for Measuring Brix with a Refractometer Without ATC Feature

  1. Ensure that the sample and the refractometer are balanced at the same temperature before measurement. The ideal temperature is usually around 20 degrees.

  2. The sample is dropped onto the prism surface; care should be taken to avoid air bubbles.

  3. Adjust the focus by looking through the eyepiece and sharpen the image.

  4. Find the boundary line and read the brix value from the scale.

  5. If the measurement is taken outside 20 degrees, the measurement value is corrected using the temperature correction table.

    • At temperatures between 15-19 degrees, the correction is subtracted from the measurement value.

    • At temperatures between 21-40 degrees, the correction is added to the measurement value.
