Hanna HI 98331 GroLine soil EC and temperature tester is designed to bring simplicity to soil conductivity testing, used for obtaining direct EC (conductivity) measurements in the soil for environmental and agricultural tests.

After immersing the device in the soil and taking measurements, you can clean the probe with water. After use, store the GroLine conductivity device with the protective cap provided in the box.
It has a wide and high-quality LCD screen. An hourglass indicator is displayed on the screen until a stable reading is obtained. When a reading stabilizes, the indicator disappears, and a reading can be taken.
The top right corner of the screen shows the EC measurement unit, the measured EC value below it, and the temperature value below that.
The EC units measured by the HI 98331 GroLine soil EC and temperature tester are mS/cm (milliSiemens/cm), dS/m (deciSiemens/meter), and μS/cm (microSiemens/cm).
With the automatic temperature compensation (ATC) feature, temperature changes in samples are automatically compensated.
The GroLine soil EC and temperature tester is automatically calibrated at a single point. The calibration buffer is automatically recognized, and the buffer value used after calibration is displayed on the screen.
The device can be set up to use °C or °F as the temperature unit.
To preserve battery life, the device has an automatic shut-off feature with 8 and 60-minute options. You can disable this feature if desired.
The GroLine soil EC and temperature tester operates with one CR2032 battery. It has an approximate battery life of 100 hours with continuous use. When the battery power is low, a low battery indicator is displayed.
SETUP OF HANNA HI 98331 GROLINE SOIL EC AND TEMPERATURE TESTER
While the device is in measurement mode, remove the battery cover. Press the setup button next to the battery in the battery compartment. The device will enter setup mode.
To switch between setup parameters, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds. Briefly press the ON/OFF button to change the option.
The default settings on the device are; EC measurement unit mS/cm, temperature measurement unit °C. The automatic shut-off time is 8 minutes, and the HOLD feature is disabled.
To select the EC unit; when "EC UNIT" is displayed, briefly press the ON/OFF button to switch between mS/cm, dS/m, or μS/cm to select the measurement unit.
To select the temperature unit; when "TEMP" is displayed, briefly press the ON/OFF button to switch between °C or °F to select the temperature unit.
To select the Automatic Shut-off time; when "AOFF" is displayed, briefly press the ON/OFF button to switch between 8 minutes, 60 minutes, or --- (disabled) to select the automatic shut-off time.
To select HOLD mode; when "HOLD" is displayed, briefly press the ON/OFF button to switch between disabled "no", Hold mode "YES", or Stable mode "StAb" to select HOLD mode.
To exit the menu, press and hold the Setup button for 1 second (or press and hold the ON/OFF button. After the last parameter is selected for 2 seconds).
When the device is off, if you press and hold the ON/OFF button for about 10 seconds, you can see both the model and the serial number of the device as SN-1, SN-2, SN-3.
