Notify me when its in stockThe PCE-GM 60Plus glossmeter is a device that can measure gloss by determining how much light is reflected from any material surface. This measurement is conducted based on the amount of light reflected at a specific angle to the surface, and the results are expressed in GU (Gloss Unit).
The device illuminates surfaces at a standard 60-degree angle and uses a sensor to detect the reflected light and measure the gloss level.
Measurements are conducted using methods that comply with international standards like ISO 2813, GB/T 9754, ASTM D523, and ASTM D2457. These standards define the criteria related to the accuracy of gloss measurement, angle selection, and evaluation of results.
It offers a user-friendly experience thanks to its 3.5-inch TFT touch screen.
The device performs measurements in accordance with the CIE C light source and the CIE 1931 (2 degrees) observation angle. This ensures that the measurement results are closer to the colors perceived by the human eye.
The D65 light source used simulates the lighting conditions closest to natural daylight. Thus, accurate and internationally standardized gloss values are obtained.
The device, with a gloss measurement accuracy of ±1.5 GU, is quite sufficient for general and semi-professional use.
When the device is turned on, it automatically calibrates itself thanks to the special calibration plate on it and becomes ready for precise measurement.
To obtain accurate results, the protective cap must be attached before the device is operated. After calibration is completed, measurement can proceed.
The PCE-GM 60Plus glossmeter is frequently preferred in quality control processes to ensure visual consistency of products during production.
It is used especially for measuring gloss levels of automotive, furniture, wood, plastic, paper, and metal surfaces.
Using a glossmeter provides important quality assurance for companies that want to offer a consistent appearance, consistent quality, and reliable products in production.
