SS8685 Soil Ph Measurement Set

Function of the Set
The function of this set is to dilute the sample taken from the soil to be measured by adding the pure water contained in the package onto it, and to measure the pH value of the resulting mixture with the AZ8685 pH meter in the package. pH measurement cannot be done directly by inserting the set into the soil; the soil must be diluted. Additionally, the set also measures the temperature value of the mixture along with the pH value. pH and temperature values can be displayed simultaneously.

Set Content

  • 1 piece of AZ8685 pH meter

  • 1 piece of 1-liter pure water bottle

The pure water bottle has a capacity of 1 liter. You can order pure water from our company when the liquid is depleted.

AZ8685 pH Meter Device Features

  • Automatic calibration from 2 points (can be done with pH 4 and pH 7)

  • IP65 protection class

  • Contains ATC (automatic temperature compensation) temperature sensor

  • Temperature units can be switched between °C and °F

  • Low battery indicator

  • Easy usage: HOLD, CAL, ON/OFF buttons

  • Automatic power-off feature for battery saving

  • Portable and compact size

How to Measure Soil pH?

  1. Put a sample from the soil to be measured into a container or cup. Using a cup allows better contact of the soil with the liquid.

  2. Add pure water in the same ratio as the soil and stir with a clean spoon for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

  3. Wait for 30 to 120 minutes for the soil to settle.

  4. Immerse the pH meter into the prepared mixture and read the pH value from its screen.

Soil pH Values and Plant Cultivation
The ideal pH range for plants varies depending on the product being cultivated. For example;

  • Blueberries and sweet potatoes grow best in a pH range of 5.0 - 5.5.

  • Barley, corn, wheat, melon thrive in a range of 5.5 - 6.5.

  • Alfalfa and sugar beet show the best performance in a pH range of 6.5 - 7.0.

Classification according to soil pH values:

  • pH 5 and below: Very acidic soil

  • pH 5 - 6: Acidic soil

  • pH 6 - 7: Neutral and slightly acidic soil

  • pH 7 - 14: Alkaline soil
