• Loyka clinical refractometer can measure urea, serum protein, and refractive index. This refractometer model is mostly used in health institutions, veterinary clinics, and laboratories.

HOW TO MEASURE?

• Hold the refractometer by its body so that the inclined prism at the tip, where the sample is dropped, faces the light source.

• With the cover closed, place the eyepiece to your eye and try to read the value on the measurement scale you see.

• If the values you see are not clear, turn the adjustment ring above the eyepiece to make the measurement scale clearer.

ZERO CALIBRATION:

• First, open the prism cover and drop 1-2 drops of distilled water on the inclined prism surface, then close the cover slowly.

• This will leave a thin layer of water between the prism surface and the cover.

• If the dark-light separation image around the zero line on the measurement scale is not clear;

• Adjust the calibration screw with a screwdriver until the dark-light separation aligns exactly with the zero line on the measurement scale.
