Loyka 0-80 Brix Binocular Handheld Refractometer

  • The Loyka 0-80 Brix refractometer is a binocular type measurement device capable of measuring Brix of samples between 0% and 80%.

  • This refractometer device is very easy to use and does not require any power source.

  • This refractometer model is typically used for determining the Brix value of jams and fruit concentrates.

  • Ensure that the prism receives enough light for easier reading of measurement results.

  • Zero adjustment is made with the calibration fluid provided with the device, while focus adjustment is made from the binoculars.

  • This refractometer device features ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation). The ATC compensation range is between 10°C and 20°C.

  • The prism of the refractometer must be protected from impacts and scratches. You will always get clear results with an unscratched prism.

  • For higher quality and clear results, the measurement prism should be cleaned with a soft cloth after each use.

  • Accessories provided with the refractometer include calibration fluid, a hard carrying case, a small screwdriver for calibration adjustment, a plastic dropper, a cleaning cloth, and an instruction manual.

Ordinary Sugar (°Bx) Values in Measured Solution:
  • In a solution with a weight of 100 grams and a value of 25°Bx, it means there is 25 grams of sugar. In other words, in a 25°Bx solution weighing 100 grams, 25 grams is sugar and 75 grams is water.

How to Measure?
  • Hold the refractometer by the body with the side where the inclined prism for sample dripping is located facing the light.

  • With the cover closed, position the binocular section of the device to your eye and try to read the value on the measurement chart you see.

  • If the seen values are not clear, you can adjust the focus by turning the adjustment ring right above the binoculars to rotate the measurement chart to the right or left.

Zero Adjustment:

  • First, open the prism cover and drip 1-2 drops of pure water onto the inclined prism surface, then gently close the cover. This will leave a thin layer of water between the prism surface and the cover.

  • If the dark-light color separation image seen around the 0 (zero) line on the measurement chart is not exact, use a screwdriver to turn the calibration screw until the measurement chart aligns precisely with the zero line.
