The Dasqua 5111-1205 comparator is used for measuring surface flatness and axial runout. It is also suitable for making tool settings and perpendicularity checks. Surface flatness means checking if a surface is completely flat after grinding, while axial runout measurement is to determine if a rotating shaft wobbles during operation.
The back of the comparator can be used with an ear or flat.
Using with an ear provides additional mounting angle advantages compared to standard (flat-based) use. On the back of the ear-type comparator, there is an ear used for connection. Thanks to this ear, the comparator can be screwed to apparatuses, stands, or special measurement setups. For example, in a workshop, an operator can fix the ear-type Dasqua 5111-1205 comparator to a magnetic measurement stand to check the surface roughness of the workpiece. Thus, measurements are made without using hands, minimizing the margin of error.
The three-digit reading format of the dial indicator (e.g., 0-10-0) indicates it is a balanced dial. Balanced dials are used to read deviation from a specific surface reference point; the zero point is in the middle of the dial and shows deviations in both positive (+) and negative (-) directions.
There are clips on the indicator that show limit marks. These clips are used to easily see the maximum and minimum deviations allowed during measurement.
The Dasqua 5111-1205 comparator is manufactured according to the DIN 878 standard and can be safely preferred for precision measurements.
Thanks to jewel bearings, the comparator measures even the smallest deviations accurately with minimal friction.
