Used in vehicles such as cars, trucks, tractors, trailers, and ships that use ethylene glycol as coolant and sulfuric acid (battery acid) as the charging fluid.
With this refractometer model, you can measure the values of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, battery fluid, and windshield washer fluid antifreeze.
The scale of the device indicates SRF1 isopropyl alcohol-based windshield washer antifreeze.
The antifreeze refractometer is notable for its small size, lightweight, and easy use.
Measures between -50 and 0 °C for ethylene glycol and propylene glycol.
Measures between -40 and 0 °C for SRF1 isopropyl alcohol-based windshield washer antifreeze and ethanol-based windshield washer antifreeze.
Measures battery fluid between 1.10 and 1.40 kg/l.
Ensure the prism receives enough light for easier reading of measurement results.
Zero adjustment and focus are made using the calibration fluid that comes with the device and by adjusting the viewfinder.
This refractometer device features ATC. The ATC compensation range is 10°C....20°C.
Generally used to measure the brix of medium-density liquids.
The prism of the refractometer must be protected from impacts and scratches. You will always get clear results with a scratch-free prism.
For higher quality and clearer results, the measurement prism should be cleaned with a soft cloth after each use.
Accessories that come with the refractometer include calibration fluid, a hard carrying case, a small screwdriver for calibration adjustments, a plastic dropper, a cleaning cloth, and a user manual.
Hold the refractometer by the body so that the side with the inclined prism where the sample is dropped is facing the light, and with the cover closed, align the eyepiece with your eye and try to read the value on the measurement table you see.
If the values you see are not clear, you can rotate the adjustment ring just above the eyepiece to move the measurement table right or left and adjust the clarity.
First, open the prism cover and drop 1-2 drops of distilled water onto the inclined prism surface, then gently close the cover.
Thus, a thin layer of water will remain between the prism surface and the cover.
If the Dark-Light separation image seen around the 0 (zero) line of the measurement table is not aligned, adjust the calibration screw with a screwdriver to align the Dark-Light separation exactly with the zero line of the measurement table.
