Loyka 0-10 Brix Handheld Prism Refractometer

  • The Loyka 0-10 Brix handheld prism refractometer is a precision refractometer with a measurement range of 0 to 10 Brix. These refractometers are generally used to measure the Brix values of very low concentration liquids.
  • The Loyka 0-10 Brix refractometer is an optical prism-type measuring device capable of measuring the Brix of samples with low concentrations between 0% and 10%.
  • This refractometer device does not require any power source and is very easy to use.
  • This refractometer model is commonly used to determine the Brix value of low concentration liquids.
  • To ensure easier reading of measurement results, make sure the prism receives sufficient light.
  • Zero adjustment is done with the calibration liquid included with the device, and the focus adjustment is made from the eyepiece.
  • This refractometer has ATC (Automatic Temperature Compensation) feature with a compensation range between 10°C and 20°C.
  • The prism of the refractometer must be protected from shocks and scratches. A scratch-free prism will always provide clear results.
  • For more accurate and clear results, the measuring prism should be cleaned with a soft cloth after each use.
  • The accessories included with the refractometer are: calibration liquid, hard carrying case, small screwdriver for calibration adjustment, plastic dropper, cleaning cloth, and user manual.

In a 100-gram solution with a 25°Bx value, there are 25 grams of sugar. In other words, in a 100-gram solution with 25°Bx, 25 grams is sugar and 75 grams is water.

HOW TO MEASURE?

  • Hold the refractometer by its body so that the inclined prism, where the sample is dropped, faces the light source. With the cover closed, place the eyepiece section against your eye and try to read the value on the measurement scale you see.
  • If the values you see are not clear, you can rotate the adjustment ring located just above the eyepiece to focus and clarify the measurement scale.

How to Perform Zero Adjustment

  • First, open the prism cover and place 1-2 drops of pure water on the inclined prism surface, then gently close the cover. This will leave a thin water layer between the prism surface and the cover.
  • If the dark-light boundary seen near the zero line on the measurement scale is not aligned properly, adjust the calibration screw with a screwdriver so that the dark-light boundary exactly matches the zero line on the scale.
